The Bashful Youngens are an Americana band out of Champaign, Illinois featuring Carrie Chandler and Aaron Short. They quickly learned they shared a similar love of music and immediately began performing at open mics. They began writing together soon after and released their first full length self titled debut album in February 2016 and their EP "inflorescent" in March of 2017.

Ben establishes himself as a songwriter in the tradition of musical icons ranging from Bill Morrissey to Woody Guthrie, casting individual people in the theater of the American landscape. A true son of the heartland, as he dips into the deep inkwell of classic American literature and writes with the ‘old soul’ quality of his literary idols, such as John Steinbeck and Toni Morrison.

In the past nine years since the release of his first album, Ben has played his songs for audiences all over the United States hitting notable venues such as The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Folkstage in Chicago, and the Fayetteville Roots Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His music has received extensive airplay on folk and roots radio in the U.S., as well as in Europe, taking him overseas on several occasions for concert dates on the continent and in the United Kingdom.

Hadley Kennary is a singer-songwriter whose music is an Americana/pop blend of heartfelt, clever lyrics and infectious melodies. Kennary, appropriately pronounced like the bird, grew up outside of Chicago. Now 23, she has graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music and independently released a full-length album and two EPs. Her warm sound is refreshingly honest and contagiously catchy.

She has graced stages around the country such as SPACE in Chicago and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, as well as several shows in Ireland and the UK. She also appeared on ABC Chicago's "Windy City Live" in July 2014, where she played to an audience of 250,000+. Most notably, she was named a finalist for the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival's Songwriter Showcase in 2015 & 2016 and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival's Troubadour Songwriting Contest in 2015 & 2016, winning 2nd place in June of 2015.

Hadley lives in Nashville, Tennessee where she continues to write, record, and perform live. Her latest release, "Momentum EP", was released August 24th, 2016 and is available wherever music is digitally sold & streamed.

The Bashful Youngens are an Americana duo out of Champaign, Illinois featuring the acoustic stylings of Carrie Chandler-Harrison (mandolin, guitar, vocals) and Aaron Short (harmonica, guitar, vocals). Carrie and Aaron met and became friends in 2010 while in college after growing up in neighboring towns. They quickly learned they shared a similar love of music and immediately began playing covers together just for fun, performing at open mic's. They soon realized they wanted to concentrate more on writing their own songs and released their self titled debut album in February 2016.

Come out to Sleepy Creek for free music Sunday with The Matchsellers from 2-4. The Matchsellers are Warsaw, Indiana native Andrew Morris and Julie Bates of Kansas City, Missouri.  They are deeply rooted in Bluegrass and the pair’s respective backgrounds in electric blues guitar and classical violin– as well as a penchant for the absurd– offers a refreshing point of view.  Also a special pizza treat from Styx N Stones Wood Fired Pizza who will be creating artisan pizzas from noon to 5(ish)pm.
